The Power of One

In May, Shoes on the Move welcomed special guest minister Beverly Clarke who together with her husband Chester founded IndoChina Partners in Vietnam.

Thank you Beverly for a wonderful evening of revelation, laughter, and time in His presence. We were so blessed by the message Beverly shared on, "The Power of One." This message was about the difference one person can make in another life, in the world in which we live, and in the kingdom of God. Beverly shared that we are the "one" that God is looking to use to make that difference.

Beverly's main Scripture text was: Proverbs 3:6, "In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct your paths."As Beverly ministered the Word of God, she addressed discouragement, disappointment, depression, and all the attacks that Satan uses to get us off of our God-given path. Beverly told us, just get back on the path. Don't lose any more time. Don't wait for the feelings to come first. The key to victory was to take the first step by faith and the feelings would follow that step of faith.

Beverly encouraged all that attended to put their shoes on and start moving towards all that God has put in their heart. Thanks again Beverly for your leadership. It was a wonderful meeting!

  1. The Heart of a Servant

I wanted to share a few thoughts about Beverly's message on the Power of One. The message was wonderful, and I thank you Beverly for sharing it with the ladies at SOTM.

God is looking for those with a heart of a servant. The Scriptures defines greatness by servant hood.

    Matthew 20:25-28 NKJV
25 But Jesus called them to Himself and said, "You know that the rulers of the Gentiles lord it over them, and those who are great exercise authority over them. 26 Yet it shall not be so among you; but whoever desires to become great among you, let him be your servant. 27 And whoever desires to be first among you, let him be your slave 28 just as the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give His life a ransom for many."

God has created us to receive joy from serving. He placed in each of us gifts and abilities, and He desires those talents to be used for His kingdom. Having the heart of a servant is very important. We must continually ask God to help us develop what he has placed within us and we must make ourselves available to do His will.

I believe we all desire to give honor and joy to the Lord. So I encourage each of us in SOTM to bloom where God has put us and in the assignment that He has trusted us with. Whatever the size of the God-given task is - do it with all your heart as unto the Lord with gladness. God wants to use each of us for His purpose. There's nothing like being a vessel for God. That's real joy.

    In His love,
    Carla Voisinet
